BBQ Whole Fish with Nelson Naturally Lemon & Herb Marinade


  • Nelson Naturally Lemon & Herb Marinade (in store)
  • Whole Fish (Tarakihi, Gurnard, Warehou, ask us for recommendation)
  • Lemons
  • Coriander
  • Spring Onion
  • Olive Oil
If you buy the fish whole ask us to gill and gutter it for you.
Wash the fish then score across the fish with large letter Xs. Paste the marinade all over the fish and into the Xs and spoon some into the cavity and add some sliced lemon. Cover and marinate for one hour in the fridge.

Heat up the BBQ then maintain on a low temp.
Place the tin foil on the BBQ and the fish on top, or you can use a fish basket, or place the fish directly on the oiled plate (keep heat low to prevent sticking). Cook 10-15 mins or more depending on thickness of flesh then turn and cook further.
Use a sharp knife to pierce the flesh to check if flaky and white.
Serve with a sprinkling of coriander and spring onion.
